Meet the vet board

DR. LAURIE JOHNSON, CVA, CVHM - Chief Veterinary Officer, Dandy

Dr. Laurie Johnson grew up in the pine forests of rural Mississippi where she developed a love of exploration and the natural world. A desire to know more about the medicine behind the rehab and to help more animals, she pursued her passion in veterinary medicine and focused her study on Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) which includes acupuncture, herbal and integrative medicine. She is certified in Acupuncture from the Chi Institute and Chinese Herbal Medicine by the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies.


Dr Loftus was raised in Massachusetts and attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where he earned a BS in Animal Science and his PhD in Animal Biotechnology and Biomedical Science with a focus in immunology. He moved to Ithaca in 2008 to attend Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating with his DVM degree in 2012. He completed a small animal rotating internship, residency in clinical nutrition and residency in small animal internal medicine at Cornell University Hospital for Animals. He is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.


Dr. Tim Julien is currently serving as the chief medical officer at PAZ Veterinary in Austin, Texas, where he has helped cultivate and enhance a conscious culture of compassion. PAZ is a rapidly growing and purposefully progressive practice, encouraging pet parents to be comfortable and confident in seeking answers about the best care for their furry companions. Dr. Julien completed his undergraduate studies in biology at Washington University in St. Louis and his doctorate in veterinary medicine at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine.
